Glass Beach – United States
If you’ve ever heard the term “waste beach,” you might be wondering, “What on earth is that?” Typically, the word “waste” conjures images of a landfill, dirty and unpleasant. However, this beach is quite the opposite—it’s one of the most beautiful you’ll ever encounter.
Established in the early 1900s, this beach consists of remnants of garbage, glass, and pottery that were discarded into the ocean and eventually washed ashore by the waves. Although it’s illegal to take this “garbage” home, you can still appreciate the beach’s unique beauty.
